The Men's Shed Social Support Program
Open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9.30am-2.30pm
The Men’s Shed is our response to consultations in which men identified that they wanted their own space to do men’s activities and to speak with men about men’s things.
All activities at the shed are decided and driven by the men. The shed will provide a space for men that promotes social inclusion and their participation in the wider community. It also provides a range of materials that the men need to complete projects such as, the restoration of old bikes that are either donated or sold. Also we have available small motor maintenance, woodwork and welding projects. If you love to garden then there is also an option to lend a helping hand to our garden worker, or if you just want at chat there is plenty of willing participants to help out there too.
This project is funded by ADHC (Ageing, Disability and Home Care) as a social support program for men. Referrals are welcome from services and agencies in the Cumberland Area.
The Men’s Shed is part of the Community Garden and all members of the community are welcome to take part in any programs or events operating through the Shed.
The shed is opened Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 2.00pm. Drop in anytime.
